production log week 9

This week my group and I have been editing our music video and it is looking very good we have now finished our music video and we have put it on youtube.   We really wanted to add some special effects to our music video to make it look eye catching when the audiences watch our music video. In the intro we made black and white. We are all happy with the music video even though it took us long to finish it we are happy that it is now done. Through out the week we was finishing up the last pieces to the puzzle on our music video we was making sure there was no gaps throughout the whole of it and we made sure the lip synching was all on point. On Wednesday we finally finished our music video. On Thursday due to do to the year 11 having a media trip to the BBC no lesson took place. On Friday we started to learn about the next unit which is called unit 1 codes of practice and regulation and we was learning about regulation and constraints we was given a guardian article, we had to pick out certain things that the regulators take control. The regulators set the rules and the rules that the music video can't break are bad language, sexuality, humans being treated like animals and animal cruelty.

production log week 8

This week my group and I have been editing our music video and it is looking very good but we had to re film some bit because some of the scenes were not that interesting to watch so there for we had make it more exciting to watch when is cutting to the beat. Yesterday we filmed inside the school cage in upper school playground to show an urban look. We did chose to re film so we can get a better grade when the marker assesses it. On Thursday we said behind for about another 30 minutes after lesson had ended to continue editing and it went well even though we got stuck at some points we still managed to do it. We also imported the new footage on Thursday from the pieces of the music video in the cage. We added some footage of Rashaan playing basketball with his friends. At the moment even though it's taking a while were not falling behind with the coursework we are still on track.

The problems we came across are we had to re film because we didn't know we were going to have to re film again. A part from that no other problems occurred this week.

We solved this problem by re filming it wasn't so bad in the end because when we was putting the filming onto final cut express it looked good because it made the music video look more eye catching which is good because the song is quite fast paced so it's good because almost every cut is different. Even though it's very long in a sense I am still happy when i am editing because I really like the way it's all starting to slowly come together. Next week we should be wrapping up the music video and ready to export a well presented and thought out music video.  We really want to add some special effects to our music video to make it look eye catching when the audience watch our music video.

production log week 7

This week my group and I have been editing it is going well so far but we have to re film in Ilford and   school gym What I contributed this is helping my group with the editing what I have been doing this week fits in my job role because I meant to be the editor also it fits with production schedule and I am keep up ton schedule. The only problem was that the lip-syncing did match the lyrics so that is why we need re film. We overcame this by carrying on with what we have got so far tomorrow we will re film in the gym and Ilford. We need to do it by Thursday because we need have rough edit, which needs to be at least one minute and fifty seconds long because our teacher wants to see what we have so far. We need to remember to cut to the beat when we are editing each scene. If we keep focus and not get distracted. I like how our music video is looking so far.  Next week we will be carrying on with the editing. On Wednesday my group and I went to sevenkings park and ilford after school to re film it went well. We are working hard to get everything edited by next week Friday which is the dead line. We have been staying behind after school to edit so we can get it done on time. We are all helping to edit I think the editing is harder than filming because when we are editing we need to always remember to cut to the beat and not leave any gaps.

             

production log week 6

This week I helped with film and  my group and I have  now finished filming and we are going to be editing for the rest of the week. We will all take turns to edit the music video we use the mac edit our video the software we are going to is final cut express.  I don't think they were any problems this week. i think this week is going well. The problems that I countered this week is the fact that we didn't stick to the script as much as we should of. So now were editing some of the scenes aren't in the right place so there's more than a chance that we had to re film some of he scenes. To make sure that there in the right places for the music video. With that being said it might slightly dragged us back a little but I strive for perfection so I will be more than comfortable to go back a quickly re shoot scenes.

I will solve this problem by re shooting the scenes that need re film and then import the new scenes onto final cut express and I will also make sure the new scenes are cutting to the beat. I will also make sure that all the scenes that are being filmed are filmed over the weekend so I don't fall too far behind.
My plans for the next week will be to re film the scenes that need to be filmed and continue to edit the music video.

week 5 production log

This week me and my group have been filming and I have been filming. My group have been filming in various locations such as Ilford, the seven kings skate park and Chadwell heath park and the music studio we close to finishing the music video. We just need to film film in Ilford again because I missed one scene and the Chadwell heath park again because we need to redo another shot but apart from that we've covered all the scene that needed to be taken. So far it's been going well because the things we've got done I'm feeling quite confident that this music video will go well when it gets edited. With that being said I do have doubts because later into the filming that I realised that I was supposed to play the song while saying the lyrics so I had to go and re film some of the locations. At the moment I am currently on track with my work. This week the problems that I had to solve where some of the places I thought that were public were actually private. Such as the car park, the behind of Keith Moore theatre so i had to ask if we can film there. Next week we will be editing the footage that we have filmed hopefully it goes well. we hopefully finish filming before we go back to school.

prodcution log week 4

We were not able to film earlier this week because the paperwork took longer than we expected so we have been working really hard to finish.

We have done the risk assessments where we had to identify what hazards they could be, what levels the hazards were and how we could control them.

We had to do call sheets which show when are filming when and where and who will be filming with.  We gave the call sheet to everyone we needed so they know what they are doing and when.

We also did location reccies, production schedules and the permission to film. We finished the last bit of the paperwork now so we are to start filming now. We filmed in the music studio today and in the conference room. On sunday we will be filming at Rashaan's house and park so then during the half term we will also film. I think we will be able to get a lot of filming done if we focus, work really hard and work well as a team then we will not have any problems. If all the people that we are using in our music video are there when we need them to be there that will make our schedule to go to plan.

In our music video  we are going to use lots of different locations which are outside the Ilford Exchange, Rashaan''s house, Havelock Street, school gym, school conference room, Imperial Cars, youth club Christie gardens, music studio and the skate park.

we did not have to ask to use Rashaan's house because it his house and he is doing the filming. we did not have to ask to use Ilford because it is a public place. We asked if could use the school gym and Mr Elia (Head of PE) said yes.  We also asked the Music department and the Inclusion office and they said yes too. So now we have permission to use all our locations.

We are going to be using the following locations because we thought that they would give us more of an effect then any other locations. They are suitable because they are closer then the locations we were gonna use before which were all in London where you have people walking around non stop.I think that practically the locations such as
alley ways will be very useful for our music video where we could have some one being robbed. I think the benefits of us filming in these locations are not having to travel up to London just to film a few shots and that its not as busy in the streets like it is up London.
The reason we chose to film in a school is because the places in the school like classrooms are hard to get access to.

The skate park can been used for different things for the music video like doing the rap battle. The different locations we will be using like the park and the alley way will also be used when its at night time because that will give it a better effect for the rapping into the camera and when we have the drug dealing and the robbery.When we do most of the scenes we will be doing it when its dark.

jobs roles & responsibilities

Director & Production Manager 

The job role that rashaan chosen is the the director and the production because I feel he is sometimes the most organised out of the group and also he  knows what it's going to look like, also he has had previous experiences in year 10 and year 11. So it's up to him to show his responsibility and creativity to reach the highest grade that he can get. The responsibilities that he will have is to get everyone there on time and to also make sure that everyone shows up so that we can film. Also to make sure that we get everything in the same location all done it that day and if we work hard we should be able to complete it within the three weeks.

Camera Operator 

Zahir has been chosen to the camera operator as he is experienced with cameras and I know he'll do well as a camera operator. I've also chosen Zahir is because I trust that he'll do well with the job role that he chose. The responsibilities that Zahir will have is to make sure he brings the equipment and to also follow the shooting script angles to make the music video look unique. Because if he uses the different shot angles it's make the music video also look exciting.






Editor
i  have been chosen to be the editor as i am very technical with computer and I know i will do well with editing the music video. The job role that i have is to make sure that every cut that he does is precisely done so that it looks professional. i am always focused so I believe that i will do well with this job role. but i also think i should  help zahir with the camera as i am also good at fliming and i also think should help rashaan with directing the music video i also know lot about music 

production log week 3

This week we finished our shooting script and we have chosen are job roles and we have sorted out the location reccie and risk assessment for each of the different locations. We also worked on the  Production Schedule which we had to talk to people that are in other groups who are in our video to agree when they would be available to shoot this was a little challenging as everyone is busy working on their own videos, but I am confident we have worked it all out now.  Our group went on a media trip with our class to the BBC and BBFC it was good I learnt about what you can film to appeal to my target audience for example if my target audience was a 5 year boy I will not have swearing or upsetting scenes because I know at the age of 5 you will be easily influenced  and will pick up bad manors and start swearing at school then it will make me feel bad because I put that in my music video so that is why I am going to make sure our music video is appropriate for our target audience. Next week we can start to film because our shooting script is now finished and we have done our production schedule. I am positive that we will be able to  finish it in the half term and we are planning to get all of our pre production paperwork signed off so that we will be able to start filming on Thursday 12th 2015 which will hopefully give us enough time to complete filming over half-term.

production log week 2

This week our group stared to type up our shooting script on excel we have split the work load in half so we all do it and not letting one person to do all the work. We all have been doing our work. 

The only problem I came across was our group not even starting the script until Thursday because we were still on planning part of the music video but other than that there were no problems.

We over came this problem by putting in extra work outside of school at the library then at home as well because we were falling behind in class so we decide to catch up with the class. If Zahir does not come to the library and come on time for class we will kick him of our group. I think Zahir should not be group leader.
